Radiologic Technology - Program Mission


The Mission of the Clark F. Miller School of Radiologic Technology is:

  • To encourage motivated individuals who are dedicated to pursuing excellence in Radiologic Technology;
  • to provide a quality education in Radiologic Sciences with emphasis in Diagnostic Radiography and including all modalities of Medical Imaging;
  • to offer educational experiences in the classroom, the campus laboratory, and in a variety of clinical settings with emphasis on exceptional patient care;
  • and to educate individuals to be competent and knowledgeable technologists who demonstrate critical thinking and effective communication skills.

The Program’s Mission will be achieved by fulfillment of the following Program Goals:

Goal 1:  Students will demonstrate competency in performing radiographic procedures. Student Learning Outcomes: 

  • Students will demonstrate effective patient care.
  • Students will produce quality radiographic images.

Goal 2:  Students will effectively communicate in the medical imaging department to provide quality patient care.  Student Learning Outcomes: 

  • Students will effectively communicate with patients.
  • Students will effectively communicate with co-workers.

Goal 3:  Students will demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills to evaluate and address a variety of situations in medical imaging. Student Learning Outcomes: 

  • Students will adjust routine techniques and positioning according to the needs of the patient.
  • Students will evaluate radiographic images.

Goal 4:  Graduates/Students will demonstrate professional development and growth. Student Learning Outcomes: 

  • Students will explore advanced education or supplemental modalities of medical imaging.
  • Students will identify resources for professional development

Goal 5:  Graduates will achieve A.R.R.T. certification and become employed in medical imaging. Program Outcomes:

  • Students will successfully complete the program.
  • Graduates will successfully pass the ARRT examination.
  • Graduates who are actively seeking employment will be employed in medical imaging.
  • Graduates will be satisfied with their education.
  • Employers will be satisfied with the quality of graduates.
