Nursing Application Deadline
Initial admission selections are made by March 15th for the class
entering the program during the Fall Semester. February 15th is the
application deadline; applications must be completed by March 1st.
Admission to the College
Applicants meeting the criteria for admission are accepted regardless of religion, race, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital or parental status, color, national or ethnic origin and are accorded all the rights, privileges, programs and activities available to students at the College.
I. ADMISSION CRITERIA* The Applicant must:
A. Submit a completed application accompanied by a fee of $40.00 (non-refundable) to the college.
B. Provide documentation of graduation from high school (official transcript must be mailed by the high school directly to the Registrar’s office); or graduation from a General Educational Development (GED) program (official results must be mailed directly to the Registrar’s office by the institution granting the GED).
C. Provide documentation of completion of a high school level biology course with a grade of “C” or better or evidence of successful completion of a college level biological science course with a grade of “C” or better.
D. Submit results of Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT):Required minimum score = 510 critical reading/470 math The SAT requirement may be waived if the applicant has completed twelve (12) academic college credits of general education courses with a minimum grade of “C” in each course.
E. Take the Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test, and submit a $40 Registration Fee
II. NURSING APPLICATION DEADLINE Applications must be submitted by February 15th and completed by March 1st to be considered for fall admissions. Initial admission selections are made by March 15th for the class entering the program during the fall semester.
III. EARLY DECISION The Admissions Committee reserves the right to make early decisions and will so notify the applicant.
IV. MATRICULATION Students will not be allowed to register for nursing courses unless the following are received by the Registrar by the date requested:
A. Immunization Record
- Two MMR’s or positive titers of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (age exempt if born before January 1, 1957)
- Hepatitis B series or titer
- Tetanus – must be within the last 10 years
- Varicella (Chickenpox) – received immunization, have disease history, or positive titer
- Written documentation of negative PPD within past six months
B. Evidence of current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification:
American Heart Association - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (Course C) or;
American Red Cross – Basic Life Support for the Professional Rescuer Certification.
