Course Objectives
The course content consists of an in depth examination of adult medical-surgical nursing emphasizing illnesses affecting the major body systems. The objectives of the Online RN Reentry into Practice course are for the Registered Nurse participants to be able to:
• Integrate the nursing process as a framework to achieve appropriate outcomes
• Use effective communication strategies
• Integrate cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, aging, and developmental influences
• Demonstrate the safe use of pharmacological principles and sound nursing judgment
• Integrate the principles of safety
• Incorporate the principles of nutrition for maintaining optimal health
• Demonstrate safe, effective nursing care consistent with recognized standards of practice
